Ventura Blvd on the Web: Search Tips

When forming search queries using the Ventura Web Search Tool, please bear in mind the following parameters:
  • limited wildcard searches are possible, by appending a * to the end of a word (i.e. comp*). Otherwise the search looks for complete words.
  • searching starts at the beginning of a word. You can't look for segments in the middle of words.
  • complex searches may consist of and, or and near operators. (The default is and).
  • parentheses force a search order, although searching for phrases is not supported.
  • searching is not case-sensitive.
  • there are six different free listing community directories to search: Calabasas, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana and Woodland Hills.
  • Websites belonging to Ventura Web subscriber businesses may be searched only from the Main Search Page.
The Ventura Web Free Listingss are indexed in a simple, white pages fashion; therefore many key words associated with any given business may not be registered in our data base. On occasion, you may need to search several times to get desired results. However, using the Search Tool to find Subscriber businesses is considerably easier and intuitive (and key-word based!). Furthermore, Ventura Web primarily hosts businesses actually located on Ventura Blvd between the City of Calabasas and Universal City, CA USA. And even though there are over 9,800 such establishments across this fabled street — if your search does not generate intended results, it is probably because we do not yet have a business of that kind on board. In such a situation, that may be your queue to ask a Ventura Blvd business owner: "Why aren't you on Virtual Ventura Blvd too?"

NOTE: if a visitor to this site develops any new and unique methods of finding businesses using the Ventura Web Search Tool and would like to share their techniques with others, please write to street.maintenance@venturablvd.com and use search tips as the subject of your message
